30 students. 3 schools. 1 memorable day at UCL School of Management. Here's a glimpse into our first Business Idea Challenge.
Students from pilot schools, Oaks Park High, Belmont Mill Hill Prep School and Lyonsdown School, earned their place after completing our Basics of Business: Beginner to Boss programme and going through their own internal competition to win a spot at the event.
From ideation to pitch, students worked in teams to develop unique business ideas, thinking through 10 core business areas like product/service, customers, marketing & pricing, supply chains, finance etc. After pitching to our panel of YEA Dragons, the winning team, Picturesque (an immersive virtual art gallery), impressed tech entrepreneur Tobi Ajala so much so that she commented they should get their idea to market!
Thanks to our resident entrepreneurs who shared their journeys and insights:
💡 Asher Budwig, Lola's Cupcakes
💡 Gem Misa, FULLGREEN
💡 Freddie O’Gilvie, Scrubbed Kicks
💡 Joseph Franklin, Biind Music
💡 Tobi Ajala, TECHTEE
They also rolled up their sleeves and helped the aspiring entrepreneurs during the challenge to think like real founders.
